What Does this MRI Scan Result Mean?

brain MRI result says Located within head of left caudate nucleus adjacent to the anterior horn of left ventrical is a 6mm X 4mm diameter T2 hyperintense cystic area with surrounding T2 hyperintense white matter signal. May represent a small lacune rather than a VR space. The phrase cystic area needs clarifying please. Does this lacune represent a stroke or something else ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There is a small cystic lesion in your brain. It is unlikely to be a cancerous lesion and probably be an old lesion. Consult a neurologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
